The Dryden Regional Health Centre has a vacancy in our General Surgery Program and one of our Surgeons is a U of T alumni and suggested we contact the Department to share this job. The surgeon leaving us after ten years is also a U of T graduate (Dr. George Rabbat) and both have served our community well.

“The Dryden Regional Health Centre has two modern OR theatres with one fully integrated MIS suite, supported by a 24/7 Diagnostics Department featuring CT, Digital X-ray and Ultrasound, on site lab services and an ER Department covered full time. Regional pathology services are located in Kenora, stat reports are confirmed verbally within two days and transcribed reports are issued within 7-10 days.

Two GP / Anesthetists provide excellent support for the Surgical Services Programs at the DRHC. We are closely located to two tertiary referral centres in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg via ORNG Air Ambulance service.

One Family Physician with Extended Class Certification provides C-Section coverage.  Common procedures for our Surgeons include GI, bowel re-section, hernias, breast, skin and soft tissue surgery.  GI endoscopy is an essential service and advanced skills in minimal access surgery is welcome.

The Chief of Surgical Services in Dryden is Dr. Izabella Apriasz and she is currently supported full time in the Department by a second Surgeon Dr. George Rabbat. All practice specific questions can be directed to Dr. Apriasz at
